In late 2021, it was named as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, making it one of only 36 world cities bestowed with the title. Launceston has become famous for its food, wine, beer and produce. See our discover launceston page for more.
All this will be showcased at Launceston BeerFest’s NYE Celebration. However, we cannot fit everything Launceston has to offer in just one night! So here is a list of activities and events happening around Launceston in the lead up to NYE.
Spreyton Cider Christmas Eve
LOCATION: Spreyton Cider Co., 6 Melrose Road, Aberdeen
DATES: Sunday December 24th 2023 11.30 – 5.00pm
COST: $15 for adults, kids under 16 free. Limited tickets.
We are looking forward to the 11th edition of our annual Music Event on the 24th of Dec.
LIVE MUSIC
We will have Lasca Dry, The Original Caretakers and Tony Leonard Trio playing live on stage.
FOOD
Spreyton Cider, Dev’s Dumpling Den, Grassy on The Go & I Serve Ice Cream will be serving delicious treats throughout lunchtime and the afternoon.
FUN
It’s a family outdoor event, so bring your kids & friends!! From 1 – 4pm we offer free Face painting & more Entertainment!
It’s an outdoor event – please bring picnic rugs or camping chairs, sunscreen, and a hat or a rain jacket – depending on the weather.
Drinks and Food will be served on premises – strictly no BYO.

With live music, lawn games, cheese boards, wine, beer, and cocktails this is the perfect way to ease into 2024. Free entry.With Synjon Fraser (Good Groove) & Dj Akuo (Ryan Farrington) spinning Vinyl in the Vines, an enclosed kids activity corner, Cheese Platters from Southern Sky Cheese x Checkers Fruit Salads and of course Velo Wines doing wines on the lawn.
Checkers Cocktail Lounge will be lift & shifting our activation space from Beerfest to the lawn at Velo for a 60s poolside lounge style picnic vibe and slinging all our delicious cocktails from BeerFest!
